5/5 Professionalism and responsiveness
3.5/5 Punctuality and Communication
0/5 Knowledgable and Experienced
Had a great experience with Ivy, from scheduling and their communication all the way up to the appointment time. Only 10 minutes late but called ahead to notify me. Very professional and friendly. My positive feedback ends there.
The project manager sent out to bid the job did not know how to open an access panel for the crawl space, even though the job is specifically crawl space related, and did not bring even a basic utility tool on his belt to be able to open it with a flat head. It's not anything special, just a 24x24 opening that has a standard factory-made interior panel cover over it with a hinge on one side and two latches on the opposite side that need to be opened using a flathead screwdriver to turn the latches. Asked me how it worked, asked me for a tool to open, explained usually everything is done for him and he just arrives on job sites.
After supplying a screw driver with a flat head attachment, and watching him struggle for a few minutes, I politely declined to continue with the estimate and explained I expect a basic understanding of the trades when it comes to a project manager and that I felt uncomfortable with the level of experience being displayed. I personally have a substantial amount of experience in construction, just not in Studio City so I don't have contacts here. I like to hire trades with more experience than me, so I am always learning from those around me. I expect to be the least experienced person on my crew, throwing fresh ideas around that we're able to problem solve together using the wealth of knowledge from all trades on site. Otherwise, if I'm more experienced than the people I'm hiring, why wouldn't I just do the job myself?

I have given multiple positive reviews on this app as well. There are a lot of great companies on this app. Unfortunately, yours isn't one of them. But holding people accountable is never an "MO". Your employee pulled his penis out and pissed on the side of my house. That was the first of 15 major infractions.
Your workers had to redo the walls THREE times, because they were visibly badly warped. Inconveniencing me for an additional week of my life.
Your workers took belongings of mine, multiple times and they had to be replaced.
Your worker damaged my driveway.
Your workers damage my floor and had to repair it.
Your employee almost at my kitchen on fire.
I wouldn't recommend that an enemy of mine use your company. my experience with Ivy builders was terrible. Time after time, you guys found a way to be unprofessional.

They initially told me it was going to take a week⦠Three weeks after the job started, they were still in my home, repairing their own work. Redoing things the correct way.
One of their employees pulled his penis out and pissed on the side of my home. I walked around the corner and saw him. This was after I had tipped the entire crew and bought them lunch that day.
I bought lunch and tipped the guys a 20, every day, for the first two weeks. The walls were still warped, light sockets were crooked, things were unprofessionally done, paint didnāt match.
Most of the third week of construction, was them redoing things they had done a half-assed job on, the week before. There were six or eight people in the group chat that they put me in. But took 20 minutes for them to respond, when one of their employees almost set my kitchen on fireā¦.
One of their demo guys āaccidentallyā cut a primary electric wire of mine, and so their in-house electrician had to come in and rewire some things in my home.
I had them install two different slider doors, both doors arrived incomplete, without handles and or door locks.
They damaged my driveway, and when they ārepairedā the damage spot, the repair doesnāt match.
Their employeesāaccidentallyā took my property, four wheel dollies and construction supplies, that belong to me, with them, twice.
The sales person will be attentive and will respond quickly, until they get you on the hook, after that⦠It may take hours or until the next day to get a response from the group chat. Thatās all they leave you with, a group chat, where no one accepts responsibility, and no one has any real answers.
Definitely going to ask thumbtack to refund some of this work.
I regret reaching out to them, I regret working with IVY, I regret hiring them, I regret trusting them. I would not recommend anyone ever hire this company. I am concerned that some of their shoddy work is going to break down and they will not honor their warranty, because of my public review⦠But we will see.
