My entire family and friends have been going to the Marriifield location for years. they have always been very helpful with great costumer service. I am saddened to say that today was not only my last day, but I will make sure that we do NOT spend another dollar here because they obviously don't need the business.
long story short, I was at the main location looking to purchase stones. A few gentleman advised me to check out their stone yard across the street and that they have other options I might be interested in. after driving across the street to the stone yard I walked around for a few minutes and saw some stones that fit what I was looking for. I asked a young gentleman what the name of the stones were and if he knew the price. he didn't know, so he walked over and asked another man named Dunkin who was standing about 15 feet away. I noticed that Dunkin started to look very angry and frustrated staring straight at me ( turning red like a tomato). the younger guy came back and I asked him if Dunkin was ok? he said, no he isn't ok and he said that I ( the paying costumer) should go back to the garden center. I have NEVER seen this type of professionalism from any business man in my entire life. I like any other person wanting to purchase something have the right to ask for a price and the type of material I'm welling to spend my money on, and it is Dunkins job ( what he is getting paid for) to answer my questions. RIGHT? I got so angry that I walked right out.
I advise anyone wanting to buy stones to go down to Sislers stone which is only a few miles down the road. they were more than happy to have my business and answer all my questions.

I purchased a greenhouse plant a few days ago but they refused to refund. The plant was in original condition. The receipt stated that all stores item can be returned and will be credited. However, as soon as I walked in with the plant, I was already being targeted and the store staff refused to refund. The rejection was made without basis and seems random.
Improper business practice, no standard policies.
Prices on supplies and plants are much cheaper at the nearby Home Depot given the economy of scale. Plus Home Depot has a much better return policy.
Totally advise against this garden center.

This place is huge and you can easily spend hours if you love plants. They also have a great selection of tropical plants. I purchased a kaffir lime tree three years ago and it has been growing very well. It was well worth the expensive price tag ($100). Unless you want something that is very unique I would not recommend purchasing common plants here. You are better off going to Home Depot because the plants at Merrifield Gardens can cost almost twice as much and don't really do any better. The same goes with their pottery. This place gets easily crowded on weekends. The parking lot can be annoying.
