Hired in early June through Thumbtack with the agreement the job would be completed in two weeks. Paid in full upfront. It is now mid-August and the work is still not finished. He rarely shows up, leaves trash all over the job site, and continually gives excuses — including repeated claims of family deaths and having to “go to Mexico” — instead of working. A licensed contractor has inspected and confirmed unsafe conditions: interior-grade wood used around an outdoor grill, incomplete tiling, missing grill doors, and a sofa that’s only half painted. Communication is poor, the job site is a mess, and the project remains incomplete. I have documented everything with photos and contractor statements and will be pursuing legal remedies. Strongly recommend avoiding this contractor.
