I hired Jose to build a cover over my deck and I couldn’t be happier. The price was more than fair and the product looks incredible. I can finally enjoy a giant deck I had built a couple of years ago. Speaking of that, Jose took one look at it and said you have a problem. I told him I had another guy on Thumbtack build it for me who ghosted me when I asked for the Trex receipts 14 months later. Apparently the Trex was just fine. The other guy didn’t frame it correctly and the joists were sagging. Thanks, Jose.

Quality work, quick turnaround

The experience working with Jose and his crew was very rewarding!! They did an excellent job, and was very fast and showed up on time and made sure I was satisfied with the quality of work they did!! I definitely going to use them again in near future!!!

Rivera’s crew replaced some rotten siding pieces and were able to get it done without disturbing the existing pieces at a reasonable price. Polite crew and will consider using for house painting.

This is the second project I’ve done with Jose, and once again, the results are fantastic. I only had to give minimal input—just a simple request to match last year’s decking and dimensions—and everything went smoothly from there. Jose and his team knew exactly what to do and delivered a flawless addition to my home. Previously, I had a desaturated concrete backyard and decided to upgrade to a deck or tile version. I chose Rivera Construction Service for the job, and I'm thrilled with the results. The project took a couple of days, and throughout the process, they demonstrated professionalism and friendliness. I highly recommend Rivera Construction! Jose did such a horrible job on my deck, I literally can't even imagine how all these good reviews are posted. The communication was awful, canceling multiple times at the last minute or without even notifying me. And the quality of the deck itself was horrible. He left his son in charge of the build the first time and the railings were put on totally wrong. They were supposed to put the railings in between the support posts and instead just screwed spans of 2x4 to the front of the support posts. The ballusters were put on at all different spacing and were spaced too far apart to meet code. It looked awful. Then we get to safety that bolts that had nuts on them when they started were left with no nuts on them, literally nothing holding them in place. The stairs weren't properly secured to the frame, and many boards were not nailed down. Jose threw a fit when I called him out on the bad work but eventually, I got him to come do repairs, probably 4 months later. He did fix some of the issues, but the deck was by no means "all good" when he was done, in so many ways. They narrowed my stairway significantly without asking me, which reduces the view. I paid extra for 20 foot boards so the railings would be one solid board and wouldn't warp in separate directions, and they cut them into shorter pieces before installing them. They didn't remove the ends of posts and the concrete they were in, so it looks like crap. They also didn't properly screw things down, both the deck boards and the ballusters, so I am 1 year into having this deck and need to replace a bunch of warped boards. When I refused to pay him additional money for the terrible work, he got verbally hostile and a little physically intimidating, and I was actually a little scared. This was a terrible experience and I am left with a poorly constructed deck that already needs about $700 in repairs just a year into it. There was not one good thing about this experience so beware the 5-star reviews.
