From Hot to Cool: Quick AC Fix

From Hot to Cool: Quick AC Fix When we received a call from Hillary Gage, she was in quite a predicament. Living in beautiful San Diego, she and her family were experiencing extreme heat, and their air conditioning unit had unexpectedly gone out just as temperatures peaked. As a reliable San Diego HVAC company, we were eager to help them regain comfort in their home. The Before: Unbearably Hot Conditions Hillary explained how she had tried troubleshooting the AC unit herself but to no avail. With the heat becoming unbearable, it was clear they needed professional help. Our team promptly scheduled a visit, and the next day, our technician, Nick, arrived at their home to assess the problem. The Transformation Process: Expert Diagnosis and Solution Upon inspection, Nick quickly diagnosed that the primary issue stemmed from a faulty thermostat—there was no power going from the controller to the unit. To solve this, he replaced the old thermostat with a new Ecobee smart thermostat, which Hillary absolutely loves! Immediately after, the unit sprang back to life. However, Nick's expertise didn’t stop there. While inspecting further, he noted that although the fan was running, the air it was expelling was only at ambient temperature—indicating an underlying issue. He checked the coolant pressure and discovered it was completely empty. Upon further investigation, he found that the roofing company, which had just finished work on Hillary's house, had inadvertently punctured the cooling line with a nail. This was a critical discovery, and we pride ourselves on our attention to detail in such situations. The After: Comfort Restored Nick documented everything thoroughly, taking photos and explaining each step of the troubleshooting process to Hillary. This level of communication not only reassured her but also equipped her with the necessary information to address the roofers. Following Nick’s advice, she contacted the roofing company, who quickly dispatched their own technician the next day to rectify the issue at no additional cost to her. Hillary was incredibly satisfied with the service provided by our team. She said: > "Nick was awesome and so is Straight Shooter. Fantastic customer service and expertise in their field. I will absolutely reach out to them in the future for any HVAC repairs or maintenance that I require." Conclusion: Choose Us for Your HVAC Needs This project was a perfect illustration of how our team at Straight Shooter Heating & Cooling strives to exceed customer expectations by combining expert knowledge and exceptional service.
