Transforming Hot Water Systems
Transforming Hot Water Systems
At Streamline Services Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical, we take pride in our ability to transform heating and plumbing systems for homeowners across Durham, NC. Recently, we received a remarkable review from a long-term customer, Arek Kempinski, who shared his experience regarding the enhancements we made to his home’s hot water system.
The Challenge
When Arek first moved into his house over four years ago, he needed extensive assistance with a variety of aging mechanical systems. As time passed and many of these systems became modernized, Arek continued his subscription with us, demonstrating the value he placed on ongoing maintenance and reliability.
However, recently he encountered a significant issue: the hot water pressure in his home was alarmingly low, which prompted him to reach out for our help. After a lengthy backwash process using a vinegar solution, he was concerned about a potential malfunction. This situation was critical as high-pressure systems can lead to further complications, and we were ready to assist.
Our Response
Upon receiving Arek’s call, one of our skilled technicians was dispatched to assess the situation. What we found was a testament to the importance of regular servicing. The technician quickly identified that the overpressure expansion tank was faulty—an unfortunate consequence of age, as it had been in place for over 30 years. Additionally, he noted an alarming static water pressure issue and suggested that the entire house pressure regulator might need replacement.
Feeling like a DIY warrior, Arek decided to tackle the repairs himself but didn’t shy away from calling us back when needed. We welcomed this initiative and provided him with detailed insights to guide him through the repairs. Our technicians not only assessed the issues but also offered invaluable advice on managing the ongoing hot water pressures—keeping our customers informed every step of the way.
Commitment to Service
The heart of our commitment is to provide honest evaluations without tactics that may pressure homeowners into unnecessary repairs. Arek's experience is a perfect example of this ethos. After he completed his DIY projects, a second technician visited him, inspecting his work and offering more tips to ensure reliable function. Remarkably, both visits were free of charge, thanks to Arek's continued subscription with our service plan.
Here’s what Arek had to say:
> "Bottom line is this - Streamline did not charge me for either visit. They could have taken advantage of the situation, but they did not. Just straight honest evaluations and answers. I will never cancel my service contract with them, never!"
The Outcome
After following our advice, Arek experienced a marked improvement in his hot water pressure situation. Addressing both the corroded pipes and checking each faucet’s screen led to a tangible reduction in his concerns, demonstrating how effective teamwork and expert guidance can solve even the trickiest plumbing challenges.
