My attic is boring now. Just the way it should be.

I contacted Pro Attic to have a bathroom ceiling fan vented to the outside. Eduardo was my contact, and I had him scope out the attic when he came over. He found the insulation looking thin in several areas, with the attic in a dingy state including rodent droppings and a wasp comb. Not wanting my attic to continue being a Mardis Gras for pests, I decided to have Pro Attic clean it up and install new R38 insulation.

I had the choice between CertainTeed and Knauf EcoBatt insulation, and I opted for the latter after many questions to Eduardo. I also had him update the estimate to mention faced instead of unfaced insulation, as I'd done some research and decided that faced might be better. He did so without increasing the total cost (faced is slightly more expensive).

What went well during installation:
* The crew worked quickly and had everything done in several hours
* They put plastic sheets over the work area and hallway, and they mindfully put on shoe covers to avoid tracking dirt through the house. The interior was spotless when they were done
* Eduardo showed me pictures, and I also inspected the attic and roof. It looked like the crew did a thorough job with cleaning and sealing the attic, installing baffles, and laying insulation evenly. They also seem to have done a good job in weather-proofing the vent they installed on the roof
* The crew sealed a hole under the roof leading into the garage (not part of the attic), and installed screens on my plumbing vents, work that they were not obligated to do
* They brought a new ceiling fan to replace my old one without charging me for it

What could've been better:
* The fact that I'd asked for faced insulation was not communicated to the crew, and they had brought unfaced. I then spoke with Eduardo and he told me that unfaced was standard for installs in the area, and asked if I would accept the aforementioned ceiling fan as compensation, which I agreed to
* Though they cleaned up relatively well, I found a couple nails and a screwdriver left over after the crew had left. This is probably minor as far as big jobs go

All said, I'm pretty happy with the results, and our home has retained heat noticeably better after the new insulation was put in. The price was reasonable, and though Pro Attic charges a 1.89% fee for credit cards, it's a lower fee than what many other contractors charge. 4.5 stars overall for the service and work they provided, and I would definitely use them again for future work.

For the past two years, our sleep was interrupted by rodents. They live in our attic, in the basement, in the bathrooms and garage. We can hear them scratching, we can smell them, and every so often we can see the flies because one has died. Our insulation in the attic had turned into bedding for them and this winter had become unbearable. Our basement was a rodent bathroom.

I had thoughts of getting this done myself many times but gave in. I called Pro Attic Restoration after having saved their information one day driving to work. David was quick to respond, did an onsite evaluation and very reasonable with the pricing. We had our attic, furnace, garage & basement cleaned, attic insulation replaced, vent tubes reinsulated, and the whole house rat proofed. They were able to complete work in two freezing days.

David and his team were on time 8am sharp and very clear about the work that had been done. Great guys and very grateful that knowing our home is clean and warm.

I highly recommend Pro Attic Restoration. They were able to install brand new insulation and install a new HVAC and transferring it to the attic. We also asked to rodent proof our whole home. Price was very fair and best in the Bay Area. They worked very quick and had a very professional crew. David came with free estimate and was very informative. After receiving the the HVAC I had some concrete work done around my house in which I needed vent covers to be redone in which Proattic came quickly to reinstall new vent covers a no cost. Pro Attic best in the Bay rea.

When we discovered over the Christmas holidays that rats had invaded the heat ducts in our house in Santa Cruz, I was desperate. After calling lots of companies, who were reluctant to help me with such a big problem, Luis Sanchez at Pro Attic Restoration came to our rescue. He came on a weekend to check out the problem, talked me through options and gave me a fair estimate for all of the work including rat extermination and abatement, duct replacement, and new insulation in my crawl space and attic. His crew was always on time, did what they said they'd do, and did a great job getting the project done and keeping things clean. Great company and outstanding customer service. I'd call them again and recommend this wonderful family business to anyone.

We contacted Pro Attic Restoration to look at our attic and crawl space. Luis came out and was very thorough in his inspection of both spaces. He was on time. He explained to us what he found as well as showing us a video of what he felt were problems. He sent us a detailed estimate of the work that we had discussed. After several calls to him with questions which he was happy to answer, we accepted the contract. They made an appointment for the next week. His crew of five (he explained that they were all family) arrived on time and put up plastic from the front door to the bedroom where the access to the attic and crawl space are. They protected the floor as well. They worked all day vacuuming the old insulation up, sanitized and installed radiant barrier on the ceiling. At the end of the day, they took down the plastic and cleaned up all the debris before they left.

The next day they cleaned all the shredded insulation out of the crawl space as well as the torn duct work. They were under the house most of the day. Again they took down the plastic and cleaned up.

On the third day they put a moisture barrier on the ground, replaced all of the duct work and installed insulation. Again they cleaned up before they left.

On the fourth and final day, they installed the insulation in the attic as well as making sure all access points that rodents could enter were sealed. Luis made sure that all the heat vents were working properly and that all the work was done to our satisfaction. He also returned a week later to check to see if any of the rat traps they left in the attic had been tripped. No rodents were present.

We were very impressed with the quality of work, the respectfulness of the crew and their work ethic. We would highly recommend this company.
