Good, reliable company. They rebuilt four feet of chimney, installed a new damper and removed our old metal fireplace insert for a fair price. The workmanship was very good and the workers were professional and neat. I would definitely hire them again.

What used to be little more than a black hole in our family room is now a beautiful, warm fireplace with a Heat & Glo gas insert, thanks to the expert workmanship and unparalleled customer service of Stefan Reckson and his team from American Professional Chimney & Masonry. It used to be that we could count on our fingers, on one hand, the number of times the fireplace had been used for a fire. Now, with the gas insert in place, I'm not sure I can remember a single day when we didn't have a fire going. Stefan spent a lot of time with us explaining how a gas fireplace nsert would work, and he helped us in many ways as we sorted out which insert we would like. We pummeled him with a lot of questions, but he always answered our phone calls, and if he was busy with another client, he would always call back within minutes. When Stefan and his crew showed up for the installation, they moved quickly and competently to put everything in place, and took every precaution to protect the furniture, floors, and walls. We are now enjoying a lovely gas fireplace insert in our home. Everyone who visits loves it, and we feel it was well worth the investment. We bought an old house with a horrible huge mantle constructed from scrap wood over brick. APC&M custom designed a beautiful replacement with quality wood and quartz, then executed that design in a timely manner and with top quality. Their attention to important details even extended to keeping the rest of my house dust-free and damp-mopping the floors in the work area at the end of each day. Responsive when I called for a new cap and damper (follow up as they had already inspected my chimney during during the purchase of the house months prior). Angela took the time to answer questions and explain the work on the phone. They were able to schedule an appointment and come within days. I think I talked to them on a Thursday or Friday and they came on Monday. Very polite staff and great customer service. My chimney has two liners and staff had not experienced this. The gentleman asked a lot of questions about the two liners to ensure he was doing a thorough job. Staff was responsive when I asked them not to track dirt in the house. I felt like the cap and damper were installed well and I hope not to have issues with the work. I was happy with customer service and willingness to explain the work before, during and after.

American Professional Chimney & Masonry installed a vented gas fireplace in our second-floor den. They did a fantastic job and I highly recommend them. The project was led by Stefan plus a great team of workers who specialized in everything from chimney liner installation to masonry, tiling and gas piping. They also obtained the permits and scheduled the inspections. We ran into a major issue when they discovered a slow leak in the existing gas line to the den, requiring a change order to pull a new gas line. This added both time and cost but was a reasonable extra amount. They had to cut three largish holes in the ceiling and walls underneath the den and by prior agreement I assumed the cost of repairing those. The best aspect of the team was Stefan. He knows his stuff, has a happy crew that does high-quality work, is very communicative and responded quickly and clearly to all my questions and concerns -- no matter what time of day or night. The project took five weeks from start to finish but that included the extra gas line work plus several no-work days while waiting for the four DC city inspections -- including an entire week at the end. We are thrilled with our fireplace and have enjoyed it over many chilly spring nights since the work was completed. I would hire this team again in a heartbeat.
