Breathe Easy: Mold-Free Ducts
Transforming Air Quality: A Success Story in Duct Cleaning
At Dream Chimney & Air Duct Services, we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellent air quality and homeowner safety. Recently, we embarked on a transformative project that dramatically improved a client's living environment, helping them overcome serious respiratory issues. This is the story of how our team turned a mold-infested duct system into a clean, safe area.
Before: A Breathing Challenge
When Suzanne H. reached out to us, she was at her wits' end. Experiencing persistent breathing problems and allergies, she had consulted nearly every doctor in the county. After discussing her challenges with our team, it became clear that the source of her discomfort was lurking within her own home: mold in the air ducts.
Upon inspecting her duct system, we found more than just mold. Gary, our lead technician, discovered a filter that had fallen through the system, failing to serve its purpose. Additionally, the edges of the supply boxes were not properly sealed, allowing outside airāand with it, all the pollen and allergensāto flow freely into her home.
The Transformation Process
Understanding the significance of thorough work, Gary set to work meticulously correcting the myriad issues facing Suzanne's duct system. The challenges were considerable:
1. Repairing and Insulating: Gary had to rebuild parts of the ductwork, ensuring proper insulation was reinstated to prevent any leaks.
2. Sealing Gaps: By re-taping and sealing the edges of the supply boxes, we effectively blocked out allergens and pollutants from the outside environment.
3. Mold Remediation: Our team undertook extensive cleaning measures to eliminate all traces of mold, ensuring a safe air quality for Suzanne's family.
4. Upgrading the System: We installed a top-of-the-line UV light to assist in further sterilizing the air flowing through the ducts.
We documented each step of the process with pictures and kept Suzanne informed with regular updates, ensuring she felt involved and secure with the improvements being made.
> "Gary and the team from Dream Chimney & Air Duct are lifesavers! I mean, literally. Gary had to rebuild some of it, re-insulate some of it, re-tape, and seal some of it. Gary listed what all was wrong, demonstrated the entire way through that our system was now in good hands, fixed and improved everything, added a top-of-the-line UV light, and shared photos and updates at every step to keep us informed."
