This is an update to a previous positive review I wrote for this company. It is regarding a new contact I had with them where I had a special problem with one of my rent houses - specifically roof spraying for algae stains. Clear Choice doesn't do roof spraying, but they asked around and found useful referrals. They also cautioned me about what to look out for since roof cleaning can cause damage if not done carefully.

My original review was about a roofing tearoff and replacement that I had done in December of 2013. I have done remodeling for over 25 years and I have seen every kind of roofing job so I know how to distinguish good from awful. These guys are VERY good.

I note that there are only four reviews showing as "recommended" for Clear Choice roofing while there are 26 reviews languishing in the "not recommended" category on the hidden page, including my original review. Interestingly, every single one of those "not recommended" reviews are 5 stars except one which gives 4 stars. I recommend that people look at those extra reviews because they confirm the decency and diligence that I found with this roofing company.

After a particularly strong wind storm, we found ourselves with shingles all over the yard. Honestly, I'd have preferred they stayed on the roof. So we called out the insurance company to check things over. They approved replacement of a portion of the roof, sent us a check, and then promptly forgot about us.

We got a couple of quotes to do the work suggested by the insurance company. The first company came out, said yeah sure we can do that for about the amount insurance is covering, and then left.

Clear Choice Roofing was our second quote, and Rick told us that the insurance company was completely wrong about the work they approved. He suggested that our entire roof needed replacing, which would normally make me think that somebody was just trying to get a bigger job out of the deal, but he argued the point with very thorough detail and photographs that convinced me he was not trying to take me for a ride. Rick also said that we needed temporary repairs immediately to prevent damage from the rain expected over the next few days. By the end of the day, somebody from Clear Choice had stopped by to patch our roof up and left without asking for a single cent or even a hint of a promise that we might give them our business.

Rick even asked to be put in contact with the insurance adjuster so that he could personally deal with what he thought was a sloppy inspection. What followed was several weeks of phone calls and faxes between the insurance company and Rick from Clear Choice. Rick was determined to make the insurance company see his side of things, even though we still hadn't signed any paperwork or promised the job to Clear Choice. In the end, I'm certain that Rick's expertise and eagerness to please us got us better coverage out of the insurance company, to the tune of an entirely new roof at no extra cost to us personally. His hard efforts and incredibly friendly manner also guaranteed our business.

Once everything was hammered out, an installation appointment was set for only a few days out, and the workers arrived precisely on time. I wish I could say that they also had magical nails that didn't require hours of intense hammering, but they're just a really good roofing company-- not sorcerors. Regardless, they were done with the entire tear-down, rebuild, and thorough clean-up within one business day. We even got a pretty awesome free bonus: a couple days later I went out back to nail up a board that had fallen loose from my fence, only to find that the roofers randomly decided to nail it in for me (I assume-- nobody else has been in my backyard since the last time I saw the loose board).

In all, Clear Choice was an excellent choice of roofing company that paid off in spades. I would use them a second time without hesitation, though I sincerely hope no storms take this roof apart. I would recommend them to anybody with any roofing needs.

First, let me state that I expected this job to be a challenging experience. It was a small roofing job and I live out in a rural area wherein it is sometimes challenging to find reliable contractors. I received 3 estimates for the job from 3 different roofing contractors. From start to finish and every step along the way, Clear Choice was very professional, courteous and responsive. Everyone was very polite and client focused. Honestly, my job was a small one and the other roofing companies I had contacted treated me as a borderline opportunity and one they were marginally interested in pursuing. Not Clear Choice. Starting with my first phone call, Natasha was very polite and followed through in a timely manner. Gavin called me quickly and asked all of the right questions. Boris meet me at my home (the job site) to discuss the job and take measurements and described the sequence of events that I should expect. Then Boris and his crew showed up with the materials and completed the job as he described he would. They were very polite and cleaned up afterwards. I couldn't be happier with the end result and with Clear Choice Roofing. If only all contractors operated like Clear Choice does then this truly would be the land of sunshine and lollypops.
